Serving Maine’s Midcoast communities of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham, MSAD 75 is home to over 2,350 students and more than 600 faculty and staff members.
MSAD 75 is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to join our vibrant educational community. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.
Position will remain open until a suitable candidate is hired.
Essential Functions- Work with students with complex support needs, including developmental and functional skills.
- Instruct individual and/or small groups of students under the indirect supervision of a teacher.
- Prepare instructional materials.
- Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by classroom teacher or designee.
- Manage behavior according to IEP and behavior plans.
- Supervise students during lunch and recess.
- Three years of post-secondary education or combination equivalent to 90 hours of approved study.
- Valid State of Maine Department of Education Educational Technician I, II or III Certification
- Valid State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
- Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification preferred.
- Mandt trained or ability to train.
- Strong behavioral management skills, ability to consistently follow and implement positive behavior support plans.
- Demonstrated record keeping skills.
- Proven ability to function as a team member.
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50+ lbs.
