Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for two full-time Special Education teaching roles located onsite in Bridgton, ME. Both positions play a critical role in supporting students educational and developmental needs within a friendly and collaborative school environment.
The first position focuses on managing a third-grade caseload of 12 students, working alongside two support staff members to provide inclusive and individualized instruction. The second position is for a Life Skills Teacher and case manager, responsible for guiding a caseload of six students in developing essential life skills and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique learning needs.
- Collaborate with support staff and fellow educators to foster an inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating regularly with families.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to support student growth academically, socially, and behaviorally.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Maine.
- Experience managing caseloads in a special education setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- Dedication to fostering a supportive and positive learning environment.
Additional Details:
- Full-time contract, 37.5 hours per week.
