Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Special Education Teacher position is based onsite in Poland, ME, supporting an elementary school resource room. The program currently serves a caseload of 12 students and includes two support staff, providing an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting instructional strategies for diverse learners, and collaborating with staff and families to support student growth and development. The teacher will also monitor student progress and participate in school-wide special education initiatives.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Maine
- Experience supporting elementary-aged students in special education
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
