Job DescriptionMSAD 60 is looking for an Educational Technician to work with our students in grades 5 and 6 in a functional life skills classroom per Individualized Education Plans. The supervising teacher will create functional, behavioral, and academic plans for the Educational Technician to carry out throughout the day. Educational Technicians are expected to follow the designed plans as prescribed by the teacher.
Life Skills and basic academic skills activities include, but are not limited to:
- Functional communication
- Using a communication device
- Hand washing
- Collaborative game play
- Turn taking
- Activities of daily living
- Reading Readiness skills
- Math Readiness Skills
- Handwriting
- Expected Classroom Behaviors
- Expected Socially Acceptable Behavior
- Self-control
- Making Connections
Candidates should be comfortable collecting data about student performance throughout the day. They will be supporting students individually, in small groups, in the special education classroom, and in grade level classrooms. Candidates are required to have Ed Tech III certification.
