GRADE 1 TEACHER

Vassalboro Community School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Grade 1 Teacher to join our dedicated team.

• This is a school-year position.

• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interest, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques to best meet the needs and capabilities of individuals or student groups involved.
• Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as needed.
• Diagnoses the learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as appropriate.
• Assumes other duties as assigned by the principal.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education or other appropriate area of study.
• Appropriate Department of Education Authorization.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to work with computers and other educational technologies.
