The RSU 24 Special Education team is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Special Education teacher to fill a vacancy in one of our middle school Special Education classrooms. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with general and special educators to meet the needs of our students with disabilities. This position involves providing specialized instruction in reading, writing, math and functional skills to identified middle school students.
Demonstrated experience working successfully with students to meet their individual needs is preferred. We provide ongoing support and assistance for new staff. A Maine Department of Education Special Education Teacher (#282) Certificate is preferable; related certifications may be considered; CHRC is required. Pay is based upon experience and level of education.
