Maine School Administrative District No. 33 serves students in grades PreK-12 in St. Agatha, ME, home of the Long Lake Fishing Derby, one of the largest fishing derby's in the state. The district has two schools under one roof, Wisdom Middle/High School and Dr. Levesque Elementary School, a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School. The district is also home to the St.
John Valley Technology Center, serving students from MSAD
33, MSAD
27, and the Madawaska School Department.

Job SummaryThis role provides administrative leadership that will ensure that middle / high school students have quality athletic and educational experiences through participation in intramural programs and extra-curricular activities at the middle school and varsity levels.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Maine Athletic Director Certificate (215).
- Basic level of knowledge in interscholastic athletics (philosophy, organization, and programs) in athletic administration (principles, strategies, methods and legal issues).
- A minimum of three years successful varsity or middle school coaching.
- Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Successful management of budget development, scheduling, and communication.
- Schedules all intramural and interscholastic contests and practices including officials, transportation, facilities, etc.
- Oversees the recruitment and employment recommendations of all coaching staff to the principal.
- Provides day-to-day supervision of coaches and staff responsible for interscholastic and intramural programs.
- Conducts annual and seasonal meetings with coaches to ensure that they are familiar with league and conference rules.
- Prepares and administers an annual extracurricular budget for all athletic programs according to district procedures and policies.
- Supervises the cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all athletic uniforms, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintains an inventory of all sports equipment.
- Verifies that all sport participants have a physical examination, proper permission forms, and insurance coverage before the start of practices.
- Supervises entrance fees, ticket sales, and student athletic fees and assumes responsibility for the proper accounting and depositing of such funds.
- Develops with the principal and coaches appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of participants in interscholastic and intramural sports and ensures the enforcement of said rules and regulations.
- Follows local policy for student participation in sports.
- Keeps the principal informed of schedules, changes, publicity, eligibility, and other athletic matters.
- Maintains records of participation and performance leading to the presentation of athletic awards.
- Attends appropriate league and athletic director's meetings as a representative of the school.
- Promotes the middle and high school athletic programs with good school / community relations.
- Works with the principal in resolving problems concerning athletes or coaches.
- Reports and documents all athletic injuries.
- Works closely with the Athletic Booster Club to interpret and promote school policy as it applies to the functions of the Booster Club.
- Assists custodians in the lining of athletic fields at the beginning of each season and with inspecting fields and facilities to recommend repairs or maintenance in a timely manner.
- Carries out other related duties as assigned by the principal.
- Maintains confidentiality of students and staff.
- Demonstrates respect for the rights of students, coaches and parents.
- Follows health and safety procedures established by the District.
- Supervises or arranges for a school representative to supervise all home games.
- Demonstrates loyalty, dependability and integrity, as well as other ethical standards.
A seasonal stipend will be paid out at the completion of each sports season (fall, winter, spring).
