Overview
Good Will Hinckley and the Glenn Stratton Learning Center is seeking a dedicated, dynamic, detail-oriented Special Education Teacher for our K-12 day treatment program for the 2025/2026 school year. Working 185 academic days.
For over 130 years, Good Will-Hinckley has provided a home and helping hand to boys and girls in need on the campus in Fairfield, Maine, offering therapeutic residential treatment and dynamic educational services including the Glenn Stratton Learning Center and our College Step-Up and Transitions Program. Job SummaryThe Special Education Teacher in the Glenn Stratton Learning Center program provides direct academic and behavioral instruction to students as part of a team-based approach to educational programming. These students have significant social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree
- Maine Department of Education Special Education Certification appropriate to teaching position
- Certification as a Behavioral Health Professional or willing to obtain BHP
- Experience working with students who demonstrate significant behavioral, social, and emotional difficulties
- Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
- Satisfactory references and background
- Valid Driver’s License
