ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL / ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

Position Overview

MSAD 20 is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as Assistant Principal / Athletic Director at Fort Fairfield Middle High School. This full‑time, year‑round administrative position provides leadership and oversees all athletic and co‑cultural programs for the middle high school.

Qualifications

Valid Maine Certification, Master’s Degree preferred, as well as teaching and coaching experience; high school level preferred.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Works with students, staff, and parents to continuously improve all aspects of the learning environment.
  • Assists in financial planning that supports learning goals, uses resources efficiently, and incorporates alternate resources.
  • Provides coordination and oversight of athletic programs and extra‑curricular activities, including hiring, training, and supervision of coaches and advisors; budgeting; scheduling; and transportation.
  • Works with the district’s facilities department in a collaborative way to address the needs of the district athletic program. Occasional grounds/facilities work may be required.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with school personnel, parents, students and the public; works collaboratively as a team member.
  • Takes the lead in disciplinary issues, hearings and investigations with students.
  • Participates in the recruiting, screening, hiring, assigning and training of school staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
