Job Position: Long Term Substitute

Location: Boothbay Region High School
Date Position Available: November 2025-January 2026
Work Days: 5 days per week/8 hours per day
Qualifications: Appropriate State of Maine Special Education Teacher (282) Endorsement and current CHRC Authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education.
Position OverviewBoothbay-Boothbay Harbor CSD is seeking an energetic, flexible, and collaborative special education teacher to work as a long-term sub in a high school special education program. Are you a retired special education teacher or a certified special education teacher looking for a temporary position? This is the perfect opportunity for you! Key Responsibilities- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to support differentiated instruction.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and compliance with Maine DOE procedures and paperwork.
- Provide support in both a resource room setting and inclusive classroom settings.
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student engagement and promotes a pathway to student independence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
- Valid ME teaching certification in Special Education (282).
