ANTICIPATED OPENING

EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

282B Certification Required

Providing Special Education Services for children ages 3-4 years

Position funded through the Maine Office of Special Services and Inclusive Education (OSSIE).

This position will entail working within a variety of environments including district partners such as KVCAP preschool classrooms, Functional Life Skills classroom, childcare settings, and in-home services to support children with IEPs.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Special Education Case Management
  • Provision of Specially Designed Instruction
  • Experience completing Developmental/Academic Evaluations and Classroom Observations
  • Academic and Functional IEP Goal Development and implementation
  • Assess learner progress through various methods.
  • Collaborate with the comprehensive special education team within the Mixed Delivery System model across a variety of environments, within compliance of state and federal standards.
  • Build strong relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that celebrates critical thinking, creativity, and innovation.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid teaching license in the appropriate grade level and content area (282B)
  • Strong understanding of special education state and federal regulations
  • Knowledge of Special Education Part B and C
  • Experience in implementing research based teaching methodology based upon diagnostic needs assessment
  • Proven ability to create an engaging learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for innovation and fostering creativity in learners.
  • Experience working with diverse learners.
