Jacksonville State University’s Houston Cole Library invites applications for a tenure track position for Assistant Professor and Cataloging and Collection Development Librarian.
Position OverviewThe role is a nine‑month, tenure‑track position. Primary responsibilities include:
- Cataloging materials as they are received and maintaining authority records
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Library’s catalog
- Planning and implementing policies and procedures for the Technical Services Department
- Scanning reviews and selection tools to identify potential additions to the collection
- Submitting orders for materials to the Acquisitions Department
- Overseeing collection management and development policies, including subject assessments
Annual salary of $50,000.00 with an anticipated start date of January 5, 2024.
Qualifications- Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program
- Preferred experience in cataloging, Resource Description and Access (RDA), and OCLC’s Connexion
