School Psychologist

Overview

RSU 40 is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist to support student academic, emotional, and social growth through assessment, collaboration, and intervention.

• Conduct comprehensive psycho educational assessments to determine student needs and eligibility for services.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to develop individualized supports and evidence‑based interventions.
• Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Support student mental health, behavioral interventions, and positive school climate initiatives.
• Provide consultation, training, and crisis response services to staff and students.
• Help shape a district wide culture that values inclusion, safety, and student well‑being.

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
• Valid Maine School Psychologist certification/license and CHRC (Criminal History Record Check).
• Strong understanding of special education law (IDEA, Section 504) and the IEP process.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with psycho educational testing, behavioral supports, and evidence‑based interventions.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism.
