Blue Water is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine PA or NP for Per Diem work at Houlton Regional Hospital Emergency Department. If you're interested in joining a dynamic emergency medicine group, this could be a great opportunity.
About the Position:Houlton Regional Hospital (HRH) is a 25-bed critical access acute care facility located in Southern Aroostook County. It was awarded the Leapfrog organization's Top Rural Hospital award for the second consecutive year, and was the only rural hospital in Maine to receive this award in 2022.
The hospital serves approximately 17,000 people across a broad geographic area bordered by New Brunswick, Canada. Its catchment area includes a significant geriatric population.
The ED sees about 11,500 patients annually, averaging 25-35 patients per day, staffed with single 24-hour physician coverage and additional overnight APP coverage.
During summer months, there is a slight increase in volume with many vacationers enjoying outdoor activities. The department provides opportunities to maintain skills and manage critically ill patients awaiting transfer to tertiary care centers.
About the Area:Houlton offers access to all that Maine has to offer, including Mount Katahdin, the highest peak in Maine and the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, located just south of Houlton. Maine's renowned natural beauty includes mountains, rugged coastlines, forests, and lakes—perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.
