Seeking Two Compassionate Psychiatrists

Mount Desert Island Hospital is seeking two dedicated Psychiatrists to join our exceptional behavioral health team. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered mental health care to our vibrant coastal community.

Current Openings:

• Child & Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist
• Adult Psychiatrist (with the opportunity to focus on Adult and/or Geriatric populations)

Summary:

In this role, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of experienced therapists and enjoy strong clinical support from a dedicated Nurse and Medical Assistant. Our integrated care model allows for a collaborative, team-based approach that ensures comprehensive support for both patients and providers.

Requirements

Education, Training, or Certifications Required:

• Board Certification
• Credentialed by the MDI Hospital Medical Staff to practice Psychiatry
• Maintains membership in the Active Medical Staff at MDI Hospital in good standing
• DEA certified

Experience Required:

• Five years of post-residency clinical practice preferred

• Emotional maturity and good people skills required
• Ability to work with distressed or anxious patients or family members
• Ability to take in, process, and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations
• Ability to learn new techniques, skills, and treatments and incorporate them into current practice
• Ability to process and interpret complex information

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand or walk for up to eight hours per day, bend, stoop, and twist
• Able to perform under stress
