Overview

We're looking for a Copywriter who is, at their core, a great writer, and who has built a modern workflow around that foundation that makes them faster, sharper, and more versatile than most.

At Anchour, copy touches everything. Ads, emails, websites, landing pages, and brand campaigns, across multiple clients in the same week. You'll work closely with our designers and strategists, get deep inside client brands, and produce work that is both creatively sound and built to perform. You'll use AI as genuine leverage in that process, for research, ideation, and iteration, while bringing the judgment and attention to detail that AI can't replicate.

Maine-based applicants preferred, hybrid roles considered.

What You’ll Do

As a Copywriter at Anchour, you'll write across the full range of agency output — ads, websites, emails, campaigns, and brand work — and contribute to the thinking behind it, not just the words on the page.

Voice & Messaging
  • Absorb existing brand voice and tone guidelines quickly and write within them with confidence across industries and formats
  • Translate complex business ideas into clear, audience-ready messaging across platforms and formats
  • Use brand materials, research, and AI to get inside a client's world fast, and produce copy that earns trust with their audience
  • Collaborate with strategists to ensure copy aligns with positioning and resonates with the right audience
Creative Execution
  • Write across the full stack: paid social ads, display, email campaigns, landing pages, websites, and brand content, shifting between formats and tones without losing quality
  • Contribute to campaign concepting alongside design, strategy, and marketing teams, bringing ideas, not just executions
  • Use AI tools actively in your process for research, client immersion, ideation, and iteration, while bringing the judgment to know when the output earns its place and when it doesn't
  • Revise and refine work based on feedback, performance data, and strategic direction, focused on the best version of the thing, not the first
  • Self-edit rigorously before anything leaves your hands
Collaboration
  • Work closely with designers, strategists, and project managers, writing copy that works with the visual, not around it
  • Partner with project managers to stay on top of timelines, manage your workload, and deliver clean work without needing to be chased
  • Participate in internal reviews and creative discussions with a point of view
  • Protect each client's voice across deliverables, catching when copy drifts and knowing how to bring it back
What We’d Like to See
  • 3+ years of copywriting experience at a creative, digital, or marketing agency. Candidates without agency experience will not be considered.
  • A Portfolio That Shows Range: Ads, web, email, brand, across multiple tones and industries. We want to see that you can write tight and write long, and that both are good.
  • AI-Integrated Workflow: You're actively using AI tools in your writing process, for research, client immersion, ideation, and iteration, and you have the judgment to know when to trust the output and when to throw it out.
  • Performance Copy Chops: You understand conversion-focused writing. You've written ads and emails with real objectives and you think about copy in terms of outcomes.
