Duties
- Provides visual and audio production services to all park divisions using nationally established guidelines and industry standards.
- Works directly with park staff and partners to maintain and develop web pages (intranet/internet) and social media sites (Twitter, Facebook, blogs).
- Using principles outlined in the NPS Interpretive Development Program, plans the technical details of visual products that convey park-wide interpretive themes to a varied audience.
- Selects visual materials (photographs, illustrations, maps, charts, diagrams, video, etc.) to support text and enhance aesthetic appeal of publications and presentations.
- Maintains the day‑to‑day media project components of the park website using digital images, video, and graphics created electronically.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
- Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program participation required.
- A valid driver’s license is required;
Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record must be submitted. - Uniform must be worn and compliance with National Park Service uniform standards required; a uniform allowance will be provided.
- Work may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old or meet the specified high‑school–level qualifications for those between 16 and 18.
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement (01/23/2026) unless otherwise stated.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. Applicants must clearly indicate duties, dates, and hours in their resume.
- Experience: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable to the GS‑07 grade level, including planning, producing, or maintaining visual media for interpretive settings. Hourly rates must be documented.
- Education: Successful completion of a master’s degree or two full years of graduate education leading to such a degree. Transcripts must be provided.
- Combination: Combination of education and experience must total 100 % or more per the described calculation. Transcripts and documentation required.

Includes paid and unpaid volunteer work that builds relevant competencies.
Transcripts with name, school, credit hours, major(s), and GPA are required. Transcripts need not be official until selection, but official copies must be provided before employment commences.
