Serves as the primary outreach resource to develop and strengthen relationships in a designated territory for the purpose of developing and implementing strategic plans to advance business in established service areas. Responsible for gathering and reporting business intelligence to proactively address service issues, competitor strategies and market dynamics to contribute to business plans and marketing strategies that are inclusive of the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Discovers opportunities to create, manage & promote educational events and programs to showcase service line advancements and faculty. Identifies, communicates and documents barriers to physician and facility access & service issues and facilitates solutions throughout all levels of the enterprise. Works with other departments to acquire the related resources necessary to create results, e.g., marketing materials, managed care, IT, CME office, department administration, etc.
Utilizes relationship management database to document activity accurately, timely and transparently. Responsible for departmental functions related to budgeting, strategic planning and business development systems/processes. Represents the organization at professional and association conferences and meetings to raise the reputation of the organization.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in business development required.
Relevant experience may substitute for the degree and is typically demonstrated by a minimum of ten (10) years of business development experience.
Previous experience in sales, business development, or physician liaison services within the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in external communications.
Demonstrated decision-making and relationship-building skills.
Experience developing business plans within complex organizations.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior management, physicians, and other stakeholders to build consensus, resolve conflicts, and sustain progress.

Employees in this position are designated as Frequent Drivers and are required to operate a personal or University of Florida Health vehicle for assigned business purposes.
A Frequent Driver is defined as an individual who:
Drives at least once daily,
orMakes at least five (5) individual trips per week,
orDrives an average of more than 150 miles per week in the performance of job duties.
The appropriate operator designation must be indicated on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time the position is submitted for posting.
