Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Newcastle, Maine. This is a long-term contract position offering an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while applying your expertise in financial operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and skilled in managing various accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Process and manage accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee accounts receivable operations, including invoicing and collections.
- Handle billing activities, ensuring all payments and invoices align with company policies.
- Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in general accounting tasks such as journal entries and financial reporting.
- Evaluate discrepancies and resolve issues in financial documents or accounts.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support broader finance goals.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
- Prepare and analyze financial data to assist in decision-making processes.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.
- Strong knowledge of billing processes and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with general accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.
