Mid Shift - Transport Operator

Monday to Friday with a 10-hour working shift, with a flexible start time from 12pm to 15pm and one in three Sunday 6am to 2pm.

As our Transport Operator you will need to be efficient in the organisation of the day-to-day duties of the office, you will be required to organise deliveries to meet customer booking times, maintaining the most cost-efficient method and continuing our high level of customer service to the client and delivery point, to communicate efficiently and swiftly working as a team member within the transport department, while also keeping a professional relationship with our other internal departments.

You will have the ability to work on your own without direction whilst retaining the ability to work well within the broader team. You must be competent using a computer and a knowledge of the transport industry would be extremely advantageous.

• Administrative duties, answering and making phone calls.
• Assigning drivers to routes.
• Booking agency drivers.
• Dispatching drivers and de-briefing drivers.
• Briefing of planned driver for start times and planned run.
• Resolve driver crisis delivery issues.
• Vehicle and driver resource availability.
• Follow driver accidents and incident reporting procedure.

• A good team player
• E xcellent IT skills and be proficient in the use of Excel and Word
• Able to prioritise and manage own workload.
• A strong communicator, able to build relationships.
• Educated to GCSE Standard or above.
• Can do attitude to solve problems and address solutions for both the transport department and the business.
• Ability to remain calm and professional.
