HGV Maintenance Technician
Location:
Maidstone
£21.68 per hour + Shift Premiums
Full Time | Permanent | Engineering Team
Pin Point Recruitment are currently recruiting for a skilled HGV Maintenance Technician to join the engineering team at a large, well-established fleet maintenance operation based in Maidstone.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional workshop environment responsible for maintaining a modern fleet of HGV vehicles and trailers. The role focuses on ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and fully operational through scheduled maintenance and repair work.
The Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining fleet safety and reliability by carrying out servicing, inspections and repairs on heavy goods vehicles and trailers in line with planned maintenance schedules.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Completing signed service and inspection records
* Completing defect reports and associated compliance paperwork
* Preparing vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure first-time pass standards
* Carrying out vehicle repairs, diagnosing faults and rectifying defects
* Ensuring the safe and effective use of workshop tools, equipment and machinery
* Maintaining high workshop housekeeping and safety standards
* Carrying out any other duties deemed reasonable by management
Working Hours
* 40 hours per week
* Monday to Friday
* Rotating shifts:
* 06:00 – 14:30
* 14:00 – 22:30
Salary
* £21.68 per hour base rate
Shift premiums:
* £2.33 per hour for hours worked between 19:00 – 22:00
* £2.82 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 – 06:00
Requirements
Fully skilled HGV or Commercial Vehicle Technician
City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 (or equivalent) in Commercial Vehicle Repairs
Knowledge of diagnostic and testing equipment
Experience working within a fleet or commercial vehicle maintenance environment
Ability to safely lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components
Welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting skills desirable
Full UK driving licence
LGV C+E (Class
1) licence advantageous
