Environmental Assistant

We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Assistant on behalf of our client based near Maidstone. This is a full-time, on-site role offered on a 6-month temporary contract. The position involves regular site visits, therefore applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support environmental performance projects and strategy delivery
• Assist with material sampling and assessment (Street Works UK protocol)
• Respond to environmental incidents in line with regulatory guidance
• Support biodiversity monitoring and environmental impact assessments
• Collect environmental data and produce summary reports
• Assist with ecological surveys alongside licensed specialists

Skills & Experience Required:

• Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, or a related field (or relevant practical experience)
• Understanding of environmental compliance and biodiversity principles
• Strong data collection, analytical, and reporting skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Competent in Microsoft Office
• Full UK driving licence
