Job Type: Full-time, 5 days per week
We are a well-established swimming pool retailer with both a busy retail shop and a well-established online business, and we are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Warehouse & Shop Sales Assistant to join our team in Maidstone, Kent.
This varied, hands‑on role involves supporting day‑to‑day warehouse operations for online orders while also providing excellent customer service in our retail shop. The ideal candidate will be practical, organised, and comfortable working in both customer‑facing and warehouse environments.
Key Responsibilities Warehouse & Online Order Fulfilment- Picking, packing, and dispatching online orders accurately and efficiently
- Receiving, checking, and booking in deliveries of pool equipment, chemicals, and accessories
- Organising stock within the warehouse to ensure safe and efficient storage
- Carrying out regular stock and assisting with inventory control
- Preparing goods for courier collection and customer collections
- Ensuring all warehouse activities comply with health & safety regulations
- Serving customers in the swimming pool retail shop in a friendly and professional manner
- Providing advice on swimming pool products, accessories, and basic maintenance (training provided)
- Processing sales and payments accurately
- Replenishing shop stock and maintaining clean, well‑presented displays
- Handling customer queries, returns, and basic after‑sales support
- Keeping both the warehouse and shop areas clean, tidy, and organised
- Assisting colleagues as required to support the smooth running of the business
- Previous warehouse, retail, or trade counter experience preferred (but not essential)
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks
- Good attention to detail, particularly when picking and packing online orders
- Basic IT skills for order processing and stock systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Knowledge of swimming pools, pool maintenance, or water treatment
- Forklift licence
- Experience with e-commerce order fulfilment
- Full-time role
- 5 days per week (may include occasional weekend work during busy periods)
