About the Role
Our client runs several countryside gastro pubs across Kent and Sussex. Each one focuses on fresh food, local produce and seasonal menus. The kitchens work with nearby farms, fisheries and growers. Guests return for relaxed dining, Sunday roasts, pizzas and dishes that highlight ingredients. You join a business that supports progression and values chefs who care about their food.
Responsibilities- You support the Head Chef day to day
- You run the kitchen in their absence
- You help design seasonal menus
- You lead service on busy shifts
- You train junior chefs
- You help manage ordering, stock and GP
- Live:in available at a nearby pub
- Salary A GBP 32,000
- Tronc around A GBP 7,000
- Clear route to Head Chef
- Strong support from senior team
- Senior Sous or Sous ready to step up
- Fresh food experience is essential
- Calm under pressure during busy services
- Confident leading a team
- Strong knowledge of food safety and standards
