Registered Nurse – Inpatients / Day Surgery

Location: KIMS Hospital – Maidstone

Are you a Registered Nurse with experience in surgical nursing? Would you like more time to care for your patients with an average patient ratio of 1-5? Would you like to develop your skills in a modern and supportive environment?

Due to the launch of new services and an increase in patient activity we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Nursing Team. You will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary team and will manage a busy surgical list for both inpatients and day surgery for the whole patient journey from admission to discharge.

This role is for 40 hours per week working 3 days per week between the hours of 07:00 – 20:30 or 20:00 – 07:30 Monday to Sunday.

This role is ideally suited to an NMC registered nurse with post registration clinical experience who is passionate about delivering healthcare at its very best.

Role Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions, working within the NMC code of conduct.
  • Assess, plan and deliver care, based on individual patient needs.
  • Act as role model, promoting a learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care.
  • Respect and ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
Person Specification
  • Be a qualified Adult Nurse with current NMC PIN
  • Have post-registration clinical experience
  • Be confident in building relationships with the ability to easily engage with others including consultants, colleagues and patients.
  • Have knowledge of clinical governance and its application
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Hold a Post Graduate course in the relevant specialty
  • Have experience in Medicine, surgery, orthopaedic or cardiac nursing
  • Have Knowledge of BADS (British Association of Day Surgery)
