This role leads and manages the Psychology Service at Oakhill Secure Training Centre, overseeing the implementation of the Secure Stairs framework and supporting the development of neurodiversity and mental health pathways. The Consultant Psychologist provides strategic leadership to deliver a trauma‑informed, developmentally focused wellbeing service for children and young people aged 1218. The role also promotes culture change and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for young people.,
Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and strategic management to the Wellbeing Team while managing a specialist caseload of children with complex needs.
- Lead the delivery and implementation of the Secure Stairs framework, including reflective practice, psychological formulations, and integrated care planning within multidisciplinary teams.
- Oversee service development, performance monitoring, and capacity management to ensure effective and high‑quality psychological services.
- Deliver staff training, support professional development, and work collaboratively with external agencies to ensure safe transitions and improved outcomes for children and young people.
About us Oakhill Secure Training Centre Oakhill Secure Training Centre is operated by G4S Care and Justice Services. The centre provides accommodation across three blocks for up to 80 children (male and female) aged 12 to 17 years who are serving a custodial sentence or who are remanded to custody by the courts. Children are not permitted to leave the centre and they have all their healthcare;
educational and religious needs met within the centre.
