Children’s Registered Service Manager

Salary: £47,000.00 - £55,000.00 per annum
Hours:
Monday-Friday 40 hours per week 8.30am-5pm

Purpose of the Role:
Our client, a leading housing provider, is seeking a Children’s Registered Service Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Children's Contracts, you will take a hands-on approach to lead the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring high-quality support and positive outcomes for young people leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, by supporting them in their transition to adulthood and independent living.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage services to meet young people’s priority needs in line with legislation, policy, and good practice.
* Oversee service and staff performance, managing day-to-day operations, complaints, and maintenance.
* Liaise with stakeholders, local authorities, sub-contractors, Police, NHS, charities, and Environmental Health.
* Plan and manage business objectives to meet contract specifications and standards.
* Handle people management, including sickness, absence, performance, and discipline.
* Participate in service development, monitoring, review, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure equal opportunities and fair treatment for young people and staff, respecting cultural, religious, and physical needs.
* Ensure all safeguarding issues are managed according to company policies and procedures.
* Provide and manage 24/7 on-call support and maintain adequate staffing levels.
* Complete and submit required reports, returns, and safeguarding documentation accurately.
* Ensure staff are trained, placements facilitated, and safeguarding policies are followed.
Required Skills:
* Level 5 NVQ/Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or working towards.
* Level 5 Leadership & Management or willingness to complete.
* Strong knowledge of OFSTED and the interview process.
* Proven people management experience in a children’s care setting.
* Confident leadership with ability to build relationships with staff, landlords, and agents.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage own performance.
* Full UK driving licence with daily travel across a wide geographical area.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
