New Business Account Handler – Corporate & Commercial

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a New Business Account Handler to join a high-performing Corporate & Commercial team, specialising in Motor Trade insurance. This role is ideal for someone with a strong insurance background who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, and winning new clients.

This position offers a mix of lead conversion, self-generated opportunities, client interaction, and market work—all within a supportive, people-focused environment that encourages progression and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Convert warm incoming leads and generate your own new business opportunities
  • Work closely with the Account Executive to develop strategies for winning new clients
  • Attend client meetings when required and action post-meeting tasks
  • Carry out market exercises to secure the most competitive terms
  • Ensure premiums are collected prior to cover starting
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records on Acturis
  • Produce professional insurance documentation using approved templates
  • Cross-sell opportunities across other business divisions
  • Escalate more complex queries to senior colleagues where appropriate
Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience providing specialist insurance advice
  • Strong working knowledge of the main classes of General Insurance
  • Knowledge of Motor Trade or High Net Worth Motor insurance (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Acturis (preferred)
  • Understanding of GDPR and industry ethics
