New Business Account Handler – Corporate & Commercial
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a New Business Account Handler to join a high-performing Corporate & Commercial team, specialising in Motor Trade insurance. This role is ideal for someone with a strong insurance background who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, and winning new clients.
This position offers a mix of lead conversion, self-generated opportunities, client interaction, and market work—all within a supportive, people-focused environment that encourages progression and professional development.

Key Responsibilities- Convert warm incoming leads and generate your own new business opportunities
- Work closely with the Account Executive to develop strategies for winning new clients
- Attend client meetings when required and action post-meeting tasks
- Carry out market exercises to secure the most competitive terms
- Ensure premiums are collected prior to cover starting
- Maintain accurate documentation and records on Acturis
- Produce professional insurance documentation using approved templates
- Cross-sell opportunities across other business divisions
- Escalate more complex queries to senior colleagues where appropriate
- Minimum 2 years’ experience providing specialist insurance advice
- Strong working knowledge of the main classes of General Insurance
- Knowledge of Motor Trade or High Net Worth Motor insurance (desirable)
- Familiarity with Acturis (preferred)
- Understanding of GDPR and industry ethics
- Strong technical insurance skills
- Excellent communication and client service ability
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency
- Confident negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
