The ideal candidate will form part of a very friendly, supportive and dedicated team, much loved by the local community, working in a village dispensing practice on the outskirts of Maidstone.
Main duties of the jobYou must have good IT skills and be keen to develop new ones. Knowledge of Emis web, along with some medical experience would be an advantage. However, training can be given to the right candidate. You must also have excellent customer service skills for this demanding role.
About usOur clinical team consists currently of 5 doctors and 1 paramedic practitioner. We work closely with 2 nurses and 1 healthcare assistant. We are a supportive friendly team of secretaries, receptionists and dispensary staff. We have a strong work ethic and go above and beyond for our patients and for each other. We are also a forward thinking practice and open to new ideas and opportunities.
Jobresponsibilities
- To carry out a range of reception and administrative tasks for the day to day running of the reception.
- Accountability:
You are accountable to the Partners, Practice Manager. - Specific Duties:
- Greeting patients politely and ensuring that the appointment system is run efficiently, managing queues through the telephone and face to face.
- Explain practice arrangement and requirements for new and temporary patients, booking a New Patient appointment with a doctor.
- Respond to all queries and requests for assistance to the practice from patients and other visitors appropriately.
- Keep the reception area clean and tidy.
- Book appointments accurately and appropriately.
- Ensure that all patient details are dealt with confidentially in accordance with practice.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the appointment system, i.e. times of clinics and duration of appointments, knowledge of EMIS Web.
- Retrieve and refile records as required.
- Accurately scanning documents.
- Provide non-clinical patient care, dealing with requests for information, test results, requests to speak to clinical staff ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
- Maintain a working knowledge of computer/clinical systems, reporting any problems.
- Attend and complete online training courses as necessary.
- Adhere to practice protocols re: confidentiality.
- You should have a minimum GSCE grade C in English and Maths
