I'm working with a well-established, independent planning consultancy that's looking to strengthen its transport team with the addition of a Transport Planner. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work on high-quality development projects, gain exposure to a broad client base, and progress within a supportive, technically strong environment.
The RoleYou'll be involved in a wide range of development-led transport planning work, supporting planning applications from pre-application stage through to determination and delivery. The role offers genuine variety and the chance to take ownership of projects as your experience grows.
- Preparing Transport Statements, Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
- Providing transport input to planning applications and appeals
- Undertaking junction capacity assessments and basic modelling
- Liaising with local highway authorities, clients, architects and planners
- Supporting senior team members on larger and more complex schemes
- Assisting with site appraisals and feasibility studies
This role would suit a graduate or early-career Transport Planner, or someone at a more intermediate level looking to step up.
- A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or similar
- Experience working in a consultancy or local authority environment
- Familiarity with UK planning and development processes
- Working knowledge of tools such as Junctions 9/10, Arcady/Picady (or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, organised approach and a genuine interest in development planning
- Competitive salary depending on experience
