GSL Education Kent are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive specialist school that provides exceptional care and education for children and young people with a range of special educational needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant
, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 3 to 19 with additional learning needs, including autism spectrum conditions, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and associated medical needs. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers and therapists to create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every pupil can reach their full potential.

This position is ideal for someone who is empathetic, patient, and passionate about making a genuine difference in children’s lives. A full driving licence is essential
, as the school is not easily accessible by public transport.

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support following individual learning plans and EHCPs.
• Assist students with communication, sensory regulation, and personal care needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and life skills in all learners.
• Support the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
• Promote emotional well‑being, engagement, and social development.

• Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport (essential).
• A calm, patient, and resilient nature.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine commitment to supporting the progress and welfare of children with additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
