Overview
Classroom support are excited to be working with a large mainstream Primary School in the Maidstone area. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a temporary long-term position starting in Jan/Feb 2026.
There is a highly competitive rate of pay which is £90+ per day depending on experience, for working hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm. Working days are Monday-Friday term time only.
Responsibilities- Support a pupil with ASD who needs a lot of 1:1 support both in and out of class.
- Use effective behaviour management and demonstrate resilience, patience and calmness.
- Fulfil any required duties defined by the class teacher.
- Experience of effective behaviour management and understanding of Autism.
- Experience working with adults or children with similar support needs.
- Advantageous of holding a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Willing to provide lunch cover on occasions.
- Any experience with SEN, through work or personal experience is advantageous.
- Must have DBS on the update service or run a new one.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection essential; all applicants subject to safer recruitment checks including references and an Enhanced DBS check in line with DfE guidelines.
