Overview

TVP’s Cadets scheme gives young people an opportunity to develop their qualities and skills through a structured programme and to enhance the relationship between the public and police. You will take part in neighbourhood policing initiatives, plus community activities and events. The scheme encourages the spirit of adventure, offering the opportunity for you to be heard, support your community and develop skills to become a fantastic citizen in a fun and friendly environment.

  • To support local policing priorities through volunteering and give young people a chance to be heard
  • Inspire young people to participate positively in their communities
Responsibilities

If you can spare 3 hours each Wednesday evening, 6.30-9.30pm then we would love you to apply. You will participate in the Cadets scheme activities as part of neighbourhood policing initiatives and community events, supporting local policing priorities through volunteering and helping young people be heard.

Requirements
  • You must be 18 years or older to be eligible for this role.
  • Vetting requirements apply as a volunteer within the police service; the level will depend on the role and access requirements. Higher levels may require details of family members, partners and others, in line with the Vetting Code of Practice.
  • Whilst we endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days, this may take longer due to operational demand and backlogs.
