Key Account Manager, North East & North Yorkshire
Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is seeking a field‑based Key Account Manager (KAM) to strategically drive the commercial objectives of our hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (hTTR) portfolio in the North East & North Yorkshire territory. The KAM will develop and execute key account plans, collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Market Access and Commercial functions, and ensure full compliance with all company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Represent Alnylam positively and promote awareness of hTTR and our RNAi platform among healthcare professionals.
- Own and drive territory and account plans, including customer targeting and cycle planning, in alignment with marketing strategy and business operations guidance.
- Promote our product portfolio and achieve post‑launch key performance indicators.
- Conduct detailed analysis of the territory to identify, assess, and support the development of relevant diagnostic and referral centers.
- Execute a territory strategy and account‑specific plans to support patient identification, diagnostic testing, and referral pathways.
- Build relationships and maintain contact with key customers, providing commercial and scientific services to ensure access at sites of care.
- Manage local meetings to drive diagnosis and referral in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Team.
- Lead and coordinate key projects and signature initiatives on behalf of the wider sales team.
- Represent Alnylam at local and national meetings, congresses, and professional bodies.
- Serve as the communication link between key customers and internal teams.
- Coach and support junior members of the KAM team.
- Liaise and collaborate with internal staff (Medical Affairs, Commercial Leads, Marketing, Business Operations) as required.
- Communicate customer and environmental insights promptly to relevant functions.
- Maintain accurate reporting and the CRM database.
- Conduct all activities to the highest ethical standards in accordance with local laws and regulations.
- Travel regularly within the territory and occasionally internationally.
- In‑depth sales experience in the bio/pharma sector and Key Account Management experience in orphan or ultra‑orphan markets.
- Ability to gain consistent access and develop strong, professional relationships with healthcare providers in reference centers and the community.
- Effective communication and influencing skills to engage professionals at all organizational levels.
- Strong business acumen to add value to existing health care structures.
- Ability to draw on previous experiences and insights to generate and maintain appropriate awareness and timely access to treatment.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the territory regularly.
- Excellent organisational skills.
