Relationships:
- Program Coordinator reports to the local ATCOT campus Director.
- Works in mutual cooperation with the Vocational and Education Coordinators where student welfare overlaps.
- Participates in weekly student evaluations.
- Meets weekly with Vocational and Education Coordinators to discuss scheduled activities related to work and education.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a minister to students in the ATCOT program.
- Engage in religious instruction.
- Ensure all buildings, vehicles, and student activities/policies adhere to TCUSA, ATCOT, OSHA, and local Fire Code standards.
- Responsibility for the physical, spiritual, and emotional welfare and development of the students while in the house.
- Supervise and guide the Program staff.
- Make decisions on approval and/or advancement of students’ activities and placement.
- Cooperate with Vocational and Educational Coordinators regarding student work activities, classwork, conduct, and growth.
- Schedule Program staff and student responsibilities weekly and post following week’s schedules.
- Maintain discipline according to “Student Rules” and “Discipline Policy”.
- Handle all student correspondence, approving sending or receiving mail.
- Assign each new student an advisor and a Big Brother/Big Sister.
- Meet with program staff weekly to discuss business particular to each staff and responsibilities.
- Meet with selected advisors weekly to discuss students’ progress.
- Counsel students with advisor present as necessary.
- Conduct regular evaluations receiving input from staff; maintain notes in “myTC” or equivalent system.
- When a student is terminated from the program:
- Fill out termination report and file it.
- Notify emergency contact.
- If on parole or probation, notify officer by phone as soon as possible and in writing if requested.
- Record dates and names of phone calls on termination report.
- Inform local campus Director before dismissal or termination.
- Conduct weekly Dormitory Meetings to coordinate activities, make announcements, clarify rules, and resolve conflicts.
- Ensure general upkeep of residential facility, vehicle, and equipment.
- Monitor inspection of safety devices, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, smoke alarms.
- Prepare monthly repair reports and maintain maintenance budget record.
- Normal schedule: weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; subject to 24/7 on-call.
- In case of student emergency: must be notified; if not reachable, campus Director notified.
- Ensure adequate supervision available at all events and services; attend in-house services when possible.
- Approve student admissions for Induction, First Phase, Second Phase, Re-Entry, and Restoration.
- Advancement from one phase to another done in consultation with Education Coordinator.
- Schedule vehicle use and log usage to avoid frivolous use.
- Assist local campus Director in other areas as requested.
- Type monthly report letters for students on probation to their probation officers.
- Maintain numbers for student phone log.
- Oversee searches of student belongings for restricted items.
- Secure all student medication in assigned locked location.
- Give student a tour of facility and introduce to staff and peers.
- Provide student with copies of daily schedule and job assignment description.
Admission calls and interviews will be handled by Program Coordinator if no Admissions Coordinator is available. Refer to Operations Manual for procedures.
RequirementsQualifications:
- Spiritual maturity, amiable to Assemblies of God doctrine, and agree with ATCOT mission statement.
- At least two years relevant leadership experience. Teen Challenge ministry experience desirable.
- Current understanding and working knowledge of addictive problems and treatment approaches. Empathetic to those with life controlling problems.
- Completed Effective Biblical Counseling course or equivalent.
- Ideally credentialed as a minister or pursuing credentials in AG or similar fellowship.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word desirable.
- Completed OSHA 10 Hour Course.
- Organized, multi-tasking, physically able to operate in fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Five years experience – Teen Challenge or similar program.
- Certified minister of the Assemblies of God or doctrinally similar fellowship.
