Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Composite Structures/Case Design team. This position will be at our Propulsion Systems Division facility located in Bacchus, UT. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
This position is responsible for aiding the development of composite rocket motor cases and associated hardware. Candidate will contribute to both major design and analytical efforts based on knowledge and experience. In this role the candidate will be expected to:
* Support composite rocket motor case Production and Manufacturing operations by providing floor support with technical insight and justification
* Perform closed form and finite element structural analysis to design flight hardware, disposition non-conformances, provide input for other teams, and provide technical information to customers. Siemens NX CAD software and ABAQUS/CAE are primary used programs.
* Create engineering drawings and specifications to define design for hardware fabrication, write test plans, support fabrication efforts, oversee testing, analyze test data and revise designs based on results.
* Use advanced in-house codes coupled with finite element analysis to create and analyze current and future rocket motor case products.
* Learn and help maintain standard design processes.

3. Basic Qualifications for Level 2:
* Bachelor's degree (Engineering or associated discipline) with 2 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience.
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
* 2 years of experience in relevant engineering field of manufacturing, design, or analysis
* Strong understanding of solid mechanics principles
* Strong understanding of classical mechanics principles
* Ability to communicate technical content through email, phone, in-person and group settings
* Ability to organize and catalog information and documentation Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
* Bachelor's degree (Engineering or associated discipline) with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience.
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
