Sales Assistant

THE EMPLOYER IS: JALDMA T/A SPAR MAGHERAFELT (RAINEY) KELLYS STORESSales Assistants support the sales team and contribute to a positive customer experience by assisting shoppers, maintaining product displays, and ensuring smooth store operations. The play a key role in driving sales by understanding customer needs, offering product recommendations, and keeping the sales floor organised.

• Greeting customers and offering assistance in a friendly, professional manner, handling customer queries, complaints, and returns calmly and effectively.
• Understanding product features, benefits, pricing, and stock locations, upselling and cross-selling to increase sales, and staying updated on new arrivals, promotions, and store campaigns.
• Operating tills and point-of-sale systems accurately, processing card payments, cash transactions, refunds, and exchanges, maintaining cash register accuracy and following cash-handling procedures, issuing receipts, vouchers, and gift cards correctly
• Stocking shelves and maintaining tidy, attractive displays, following visual merchandising guidelines and planograms, ensuring products are correctly priced and labelled, rotating stock and removing damaged or expired items.
• Receiving, unpacking, and checking deliveries, assisting with stock counts and inventory audits, reporting low stock, discrepancies, or damages.
• Follow store opening and closing procedures and understand store policies: health & safety, security, loss prevention and time management to complete tasks efficiently.
• Working effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and management, supporting team members during busy periods (e.g. holidays, sales events).

• Maths and English or working towards these qualifications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
