Autocad Technician

We are recruiting an AutoCAD Technician / Draughtsperson to support live electrical projects for a long-established electrical contracting business.

This is a practical, hands-on role producing and maintaining accurate AutoCAD drawings to support project delivery across commercial, industrial, healthcare and public-sector projects. An electrical background is desirable but not essential; strong AutoCAD experience and a construction or engineering mindset are key.

• Produce and amend AutoCAD drawings for electrical installations
• Prepare layout drawings for lighting, power, containment and associated services
• Update drawings based on engineer mark-ups and site feedback
• Maintain drawing registers and revision control
• Issue drawings to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Assist with preparation of as-built drawings at project completion
• Support multiple live projects simultaneously

• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Experience producing technical drawings within construction, engineering or building services
• Ability to work from mark-ups, sketches and verbal instructions
• High attention to detail and good organisational skills
• Ability to work to deadlines in a project-driven environment
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Electrical, M&E or building services drawing experience
• Understanding of electrical layouts, symbols and terminology
• Experience producing as-built drawings
• Experience working contractor-side rather than consultancy

• On-the-job support to develop understanding of electrical systems and standards
