What strategies would you implement to boost an existing sales portfolio? How would you develop your team to prepare them for this transformative journey? As they enter a period of sustained growth, the client we represent has identified the need to enhance the way they sell.

Providing engineering services and products to the built environment, the business has an established sales structure that is very successful in managing the day to day. Recognising the need to amplify their strategic sales approach, they are seeking a sales leader and innovator to helm this enhancement vision.

As the Sales & Marketing Director, you will be responsible for leading the sales & marketing teams, developing and executing sales strategies, and driving revenue growth across Spain & Portugal. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the business’ sales vision, expanding market presence, and fostering a high-performance sales culture.

Who will succeed in this role:

  • Degree qualified, you will exhibit the following behaviours:
  • Sales leadership & excellence – track record of achieving outstanding sales results, combined with sales leadership qualities including team management, motivation and strategic thinking.
  • Experience from within a service selling environment, including tender management & proposals.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders, clients and suppliers.
  • External awareness, keeping abreast of market dynamics, industry trends and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership – Provide strong leadership to the sales team, setting clear expectations, and fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Strategy Development – Develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives. Stay abreast of market trends and competition to identify new opportunities.
  • Team Management – Recruit, train, and nurture a high-performing sales team. Provide coaching, mentoring, and ongoing development to grow and empower the team.
  • Relationship Building – Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Drive collaboration with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Market Expansion & Sales Innovation – Creatively identify and pursue opportunities for market expansion including new revenue streams. Develop and nurture internal strategic partnerships to encourage cross-selling, client focused behaviours. Grow company and brand visibility through external engagements with societies, associations and partners.
  • Performance Metrics – Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies. Implement data-driven decision-making processes. Take ownership of Sales CRM driving adoption across the sales team.
