Head of Data Centre Construction, Madrid

Linum Consult’s client is an international design and build main contractor, specialising in the construction of large commercial and industrial facilities for international blue-chip clients. They are currently seeking a Country Manager from an EPC turnkey construction background to oversee their Data Centre division across Europe, based in Madrid.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring the performance, design development, and client satisfaction from pre-construction through to project completion
• Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary international teams, managing the technical and commercial elements, and playing a pivotal role in maintaining and growing client relationships
• Directing and coordinating design activities, including optimising technical solutions, controlling project milestones, and supporting technical excellence
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, leading change management, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project life cycle
• Leading cross-functional international design and project teams, ensuring effective collaboration between all stakeholders
• Partnering with local project teams during the execution phases, maintaining alignment between design intent and construction delivery

PROFILE

• Master’s degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Urbanism, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a similar field
• At least 10 years’ experience within the EPC turnkey construction industry, with a history of working on highly‑technical large data centre projects
• Strong background of overseeing EPC activities
• Exposure to M&E project management would be advantageous
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English
• A history of working for either main contractors or engineering consultancies, with an established network of contacts within Spain to help develop the business
• The right to live and work in the EU and travel frequently within Europe
