Systems Engineer Satellite Communication Services

Do you want to face new challenges in the satellite communications sector? GOVSATCOM isone of the five components of the EU Space Programme, together with Copernicus,Galileo, EGNOS, and Space Situational Awareness, and will be responsible for delivering secure and cost-effective satellite communication services to EUauthorized users.

We are looking for a systems engineer to join our engineering team during the design, implementation, integration, validation, and operational deployment phases of the GOVSATCOM Hub system.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

As part of this challenge, you will gain a global view of the system and will need to monitor the developments of the subsystems, ensuring their integration to provide full functionality. Your responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to the design of the GOVSATCOM Hub system: its subsystems, internal and external interfaces.
• Contributing to the concept of operations.
• Specifying subsystems and technically monitoring suppliers responsible for their development to ensure compliance with functional, performance, and security requirements.
• Ensuring the integration of the complete system, in coordination with subsystem development teams and the validation team.
• Ensuring compliance with security requirements, in coordination with the project’s security team.
• Contributing to engineering plans, particularly for deployment at operational facilities (located in two European countries) and their entry into operations.
• Identifying improvements and evolutions of the system

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

We are looking for graduates in Telecommunications with an interest in systems engineering and satellite communications. Additionally, candidates should have:

• At least 3 years of experience in the design and/or integration of large software systems.
• Previous experience in the definition and/or implementation of satellite communication services.
• Knowledge of satellite communication equipment and related systems.
• High level of spoken and written English.

We will also value previous experience in systems with security requirements and knowledge of trends and advancements in satellite communication technology.
