Finance Manager, FOAA

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our Finance Operations Accounting and Analysis (FOAA) team in Bangalore. This role is critical to ensure that our accounting processes run smoothly in a highly controlled and compliant environment, delivering exceptional accuracy, efficiency, and insights aligned with Amazon’s leadership principles of Customer Obsession, Deliver Results, and Insist on the Highest Standards.

You will work closely with Central Accounting, Finance Operations, and Global Finance teams to support month‑end close, drive operational excellence, and uphold rigorous financial control standards. This position plays a pivotal role in closing global books, preparing reconciliations, managing journal entries, driving reporting, and engaging with leadership on performance reviews.

• Financial close and related reporting, accruals, and supporting month‑end close.
• Monthly P&L analysis, financial reporting and forecasting.
• Use of financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets.
• Headcount reporting, planning and forecasting.
• Establish, measure and monitor weekly KPI metric discussions for new and existing business initiatives and operational performance.
• Ad‑hoc business analyses and financial modeling.
• Provide inputs for monthly and quarterly business reviews and facilitate business and financial review meetings with business groups.
• Ensure effective finance and cost management and partner with stakeholders to develop strategic multi‑year or long‑term operating plans.
• Challenge processes, identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance processes.
• Identify incomplete or inaccurate data, determine root causes, and drive resolution or escalation.

• 8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
• 3+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) experience.
• 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable experience.
• 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
• 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision‑making.
• 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
• 5+ years of directly managing and leading a team of 5+ members.

• 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root causes, and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
• 6+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members.
• 3+ years of working with senior staff (e.g., C‑suite).
• MBA or CPA.
• Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MSAccess, Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on ad‑hoc analyses for strategic decision‑making.
