About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience, preferably with a background in a Big 4 accounting firm and possess strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP (Plan General Contable Español) and IFRS. This role requires excellent organizational skills, as the candidate will be responsible for managing the entire accounting process and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee all accounting operations, including bank reconciliation, accounts receivable and payables, preparation of financial statements, and the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Lead the audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and present financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
- Ensure timely tax filings, statutory compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Manage and control access to bank accounts, overseeing transactions and reconciliations.
- Implement and enhance internal controls and accounting policies to improve financial processes.
- Work closely with senior management to support business decisions with accurate financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Net Suite or other major accounting software.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, preferably with experience in a Big 4 accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP (Plan General Contable Español).
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, audits, and closing processes.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (both written and spoken).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (preferably Net Suite).
- Detail-oriented, and ability to work in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
