Position OverviewOur client is seeking a Servo / Motion Control Engineer to design, optimize, and support high-performance actuation systems for humanoid and industrial robotic platforms. This role focuses on motor control theory, servo performance optimization, and long-term reliability of servo-driven robotic joints. The ideal candidate combines strong motion control fundamentals with hands‑on system validation experience and thrives in a collaborative robotics engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities- Motion Control & Servo Optimization
- Develop and tune motor control systems (FOC, PID, torque/velocity/position loops)
- Optimize servo performance for precision, responsiveness, and thermal constraints
- Perform torque modeling, inertia analysis, and load dynamics evaluation
- Support embedded motion system integration
- Robotics System Integration
- Validate servo systems within articulated robotic platforms
- Work with Ether
CAT, CAN, RS‑485, and real‑time motion buses - Integrate encoders, resolvers, and force/torque feedback systems
- Collaborate closely with firmware and controls teams
- Testing & Reliability
- Develop validation and endurance test plans
- Analyze telemetry and system logs
- Conduct root cause analysis and FMEA
- Improve long‑term reliability and serviceability
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with mechanical, firmware, and robotics engineering teams
- Contribute to technical documentation and specifications
- Support next‑generation actuation system development
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or related field
- 3–6+ years of experience in servo systems, motion control, or robotics development
- Strong experience with Field Oriented Control (FOC), PID tuning and loop optimization, torque, inertia, and thermal modeling, embedded motion systems
- Humanoid or collaborative robotics
- Harmonic drive or precision gearbox integration
- MATLAB or Python for simulation/analysis
- Real‑time motion control systems (Ether
CAT preferred) - Reliability engineering / failure analysis background
Compensation is highly competitive and negotiable based on experience. This is a high‑impact engineering role with significant influence on next‑generation robotic actuation systems.
