About the OpportunityOur client is seeking a hands‑on Robotics Servo Technician to diagnose, repair, calibrate, and test servo motors and actuation systems used in advanced robotic applications. This role focuses on restoring high‑precision motion systems to peak performance across humanoid and industrial robotic joint assemblies.
This is an ideal opportunity for a mechanically and electrically inclined technician who enjoys working in a lab or production environment and thrives on troubleshooting precision motion equipment.
Position SummaryThe Robotics Servo Technician will support servo motor diagnostics, gearbox servicing, calibration, and robotic joint integration. This role plays a key part in ensuring reliable, precise motion performance across advanced robotic platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Servo Motor & Actuation Repair
- Diagnose faults in servo motors, gearboxes, encoders, brakes, and drive electronics
- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild BLDC and PMSM motors
- Replace bearings, seals, and mechanical components
- Service harmonic, cycloidal, and planetary gearboxes
- Support motor rewinding when applicable
- Calibration & Testing
- Calibrate torque, velocity, position, and current control loops
- Conduct thermal, vibration, and endurance testing
- Utilize oscilloscopes, multimeters, current probes, and motor analyzers
- Validate motor performance against engineering specifications
- Robotics Integration Support
- Assist with installation and testing of servo systems within robotic joints
- Support joint alignment, backlash reduction, and torque verification
- Work with encoders, resolvers, and torque sensors
- Interface with Ether
CAT, CAN, RS‑485, or similar communication systems
- Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Document repairs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Develop and follow standardized testing procedures
- Provide feedback to engineering teams on recurring failure modes
- Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent hands‑on experience
- 3+ years working with servo motors, robotic actuators, or motion systems
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
