By joining our Structures Unit as a Transportation Engineering Assistant II in Hopkins County, you’ll have the opportunity to perform more complex technical tasks in support of transportation engineering programs such as bridge inspections. Performs inspections, oversees basic projects, completes paperwork, performs low level inspections, and performs other duties as assigned.
Summary Of Responsibilities- Assisting Bridge inspection
- Note and picture taking
- Cross section stream data entry
- Using basic tools to locate and measure bridge defects
- Assist with signage location and documentation

Additional position information (travel required, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, sitting at a desk, etc.) Work is performed in the field, incumbent will be exposed to risks inherent to working with large equipment and machines involved in road construction. Must be able to lift, climb, carry, stand for long period, stoop and walk long distances.

Minimum RequirementsEducation: High school graduate.
Experience, Training, or
Skills:
Must have two years of engineering-related experience, maintenance, construction, or experience on a structures crew.

Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
