The River is seeking a reliable, detail oriented, customer service-minded Recovery Specialist with driving experience join our team. Responsibilities will include driving box trucks and vans to collect donated products from community partners, unload and sort donated products, and to complete required documentation accurately and timely. This position does require an individual to lift heavy products up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally 70 pounds.
The position is full-time (32 hours) with the primary work schedule of Tuesday-Friday with 8-hour shifts between 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. This position may be scheduled for an occasional weekend shift to meet organizational and client needs.
In the full-time Recovery Specialist role, you will contribute to our mission of providing food, resources, and faith to build a stronger community by:
Responsibilities- Drive The River’s vehicles for pickups from local wholesalers, grocery stores, and other locations as needed.
- Operate The River’s vehicles in a safe manner while obeying all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
- Maintain an organized, safe and clean work environment.
- Assist in loading and unloading donated items.
- Assist with documenting accurate incoming donation weight as needed.
- Assist in sorting and storing food appropriately.
- Abide by all safety and hygiene regulations.
- Safely operate equipment (e.g., dolly, pallet jacks).
- Comply with FEFO inventory practices in warehouse, coolers, and freezers.
- Provide appropriate receipts to donors upon request.
- Maintain positive, effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, vendors, and clients.
- Assist in informing retail partners of The River’s operations to support their donation practices and build/maintain positive relationships with partners.
- Perform other job duties as assigned based on organizational and client needs.
- 1+ years’ experience in a customer service role is required.
- 3+ years’ driving experience is required.
- 1+ years’ experience driving a box truck or delivery vehicle is required.
- Experience working in a warehouse is preferred.
- Multilingual is strongly preferred.

- Background and DMV check are required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain food service sanitation certification in accordance with municipal and state laws.
- Valid driver’s license and maintains a driving record that supports being on The River’s insurance plan.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, carry, climb, grasp, hear, kneel, pull, sit, stand, stoop, and walk.
