Purpose of Position: The Head Girls’ Volleyball Coach will oversee the entire Memorial Girls’ Volleyball Program and instruct the varsity high school volleyball team. They are responsible for helping each student-athlete gain success by reaching their full potential in the classroom and on the court.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise the volleyball program coaching staff, including JV/JV2 coaches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee the training of volleyball players in all positions in conjunction with the other coaches.
- Develop training plans for volleyball players in conjunction with the other coaches.
- Assist in overseeing the running of specific events as needed at home games, as directed by the Director of Athletics and Operations.
- Contribute to game line-up planning with other coaches.
- Attend and coach at all practices.
- Attend and coach at all matches.
- Assist other coaches in monitoring team members’ practice attendance, school attendance, meet attendance, and grades.
- Assist other coaches in enforcing team policies.
- Provide feedback to players about their performance related to disposition, behavior, and team skills.
- Manage program budget and organize fundraising efforts for the volleyball program.
- Coordinate competition and practice schedules with the Director of Athletics and Operations.
- Coordinate off-season training and conditioning for the volleyball program.
- Completion of the required WIAA Rules Exam for volleyball by the 2026 fall sports season.
WIAA 2026 Fall Sports Season with optional work activities in Spring 2026.
Working ConditionsWill be expected to work in evenings and weekends.
In Season: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday – Friday, Saturday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (sometimes longer for invites).
Out of Season: 25 hours a month.
Physical RequirementsThe job will require you to stand for extended periods of time, while coaching at practices and games.
