Position: Youth Trade Apprentice — Hands-On Learning Across Trades

DJ Youth Apprentice Pipeline For High School Students (Electrical)

We welcome apprentices across the following trades:

  • Electrical
  • HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Sprinkler Fitting (Fire Protection)
Important:

This posting is for our Youth Apprentice talent pipeline and is not an immediate or active job opening. Dave Jones hires all Youth Apprentices during the spring months in preparation for the upcoming school year. Applications submitted outside of our spring hiring period will be reviewed and considered for the next summer onboarding cycle.

  • Starting pay is $18.00 per hour for all Youth Apprentice positions.

What This Pipeline Covers

We welcome candidates interested in Youth‑Apprentice work across our four trades:

  • Electrical
  • HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Sprinkler Fitting (Fire Protection)

We hire across the New Construction business area (Commercial Multi‑Family and Residential Single‑Family homes).

What You’ll Learn / Do (Typical Youth Apprentice Experience)
  • Support field crews with material handling, site organization, and jobsite housekeeping.
  • Use basic hand and power tools safely under guidance.
  • Assist with install prep (e.g., cutting openings, staging equipment, loading/unloading).
  • Practice safety and quality basics, helping maintain clean, compliant work areas.
  • Work as part of a team and develop trade awareness across New Construction environments (Actual tasks vary by trade and project).
