Description The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work in the repair, restoration, and preservation of commercial and residential properties damaged by water, fire, vehicle impact, and other building disasters. The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work in the repair, restoration, and preservation of commercial and residential properties damaged by water, fire, vehicle impact, and other building disasters. This role requires consistent use of high-level carpentry techniques, adherence to safety standards, effective time management, and the ability to handle emergency on-call duties with professionalism and efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities- Perform carpentry tasks, including but not limited to demolition framing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, millwork installation, and exterior finishes in a workman like manner.
- Identify and use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for various carpenter tasks.
- Apply carpentry techniques to address structural damage.
- Execute repairs according to engineering and design specifications.
- Attend scheduled on-call team meetings and maintain availability and communication with team leaders.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls when directed and participate in mitigation activities including water and fire mitigation, demolition, and cleanup.
- Maintain a positive attitude with team members and clients while handling high-pressure situations.
- Use company-provided software solutions and provide clear, timely updates to supervisors and production members about project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Document work performed, including photos, notes, and material usage, and communicate openly with team members to ensure collaboration and task alignment.
- Participate in company-provided training sessions and apply new knowledge to enhance job performance and client experience.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance, keep vehicles clean and organized, and contribute to a safe job site while representing the company positively.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Experience and/or Training:
Minimum of five years’ carpentry experience - Licenses/Certificates:
Valid Driver’s License - Technology/Equipment:
Carpenters are required to bring tools: smart cellular telephone with data plan, hand tools, and power tools
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent - Experience and/or Training:
Ten years’ experience in carpentry; computer proficiency; OSHA 10 or 30;
First Aid and CPR Certification;
Blueprint reading;
Lift Certification;
Heavy Equipment Training; other certifications and trainings - Licenses/Certificates:
Valid Driver’s License - Technology/Equipment:
Tools as above
- Ability to stand, squat, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, walk, push, pull, crouch and crawl for long periods
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 lbs
- Ability to work in high and/or tight places and in various weather conditions
- See and hear well with or without correction
- Coordinate movement with eyes, hands, fingers, and feet
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and visit various customers and meeting sites
- Ability to communicate in person and over the telephone
